A successful day out for Young Rider Matt Garrigan and his mount, HHS La Scala taking the top spot at Jag Equestrian and also winning the €100 TRI Equestrian voucher with a double clear in a time of 34.06.
The combination of Cpt. Geoff Curran and Drumiller Lough settled for second place with under a second separating him from Garrigan’s time (34.94). Captain Curran also had success last Thursday finishing second with Drumiller Lough at Bannow and Rathangan Show.
A combination that displayed great success during the Connolly’s Red Mills Spring Tour has now made it onto the leader board for the National Grand Prix. Frank Curran and Oliver Twister was the last of the three double clears of the day in a time of 39.14 slotted into third place.
Our leading combination of the tour at this time, Liam O’Meara and Mr. Coolcaum had a fence down and a time of 37.77 which forced him into fourth place, still in a point scoring position, has increased his lead by 25 points. O’Meara is also in second place on the leader board with his other horse Curraghgraigue, Jack Take Flight.
Louis Gates Hardiman and Erasmus VD Heffink who also had a fence down in a time of 48.04 was fifth on the day. However, with good results and placings in Cóilog and Cavan, Louis now lies fifth on the leader board with five legs still remaining.
Joan Green and CSF Vinza also made their way onto the leader board with four points after finishing in sixth place in a time of 40.10 and two fences falling.
