ShowjumpingIreland is thrilled to welcome back Holmestead Saddlery as title sponsors of the upcoming Young Rider National Championships which take place from the 25th- 28th of August at Mullingar Equestrian Centre.
As title sponsors of the Young Riders section at this year’s National Championships, Holmestead Saddlery have generously provided prizes in excess of €8,000 from the 1.00mtr National Championship final to the coveted 1.30 Young Rider Championship title.

Holmestead Saddlery earlier this year announced their official sponsorship of the National Young Rider Sportsmanship 2016. The concept behind this new initiative was to reintroduce, while also encouraging Young Riders back into the sport. The class was incorporated into a 1.10m competition that took place at a Regional Grand Prix Show. The competition was open to riders 14-25 years of age, who haven’t yet jumped over 1.35m.
The grand finale of this exciting new Young Rider Sportsmanship also takes place at this year’s National Pony & Young Rider Championships where a prize fund of €2,500.00 will be up for grabs. To have qualified for the final, the athlete must have jumped three double clear rounds in the 1.10m class at a Regional Grand Prix Show.
