MARSHALL WINS OMAGH NATIONAL GRAND PRIX WITH KINGDOM

Harry Marshall won the Premier Series Grand Prix at Omagh back in 2009 when winning with Rainman and he took the 12th leg of the TRM/Horseware National Grand Prix League back at the Omagh Showgrounds, this time riding his own Kingdom.

Marshall was one of 11 that made it through to the Jump off, with the Ballyclare native running out a decisive winner of the €4,000 class sponsored by the Tyrone Farming Society.

The eventual winner, is reknowned for his riding ability against the clock and that proved true when winning by over three seconds in a hard fought class on Friday.  Recording a double clear round, Marshall stopped the clock in 43.04.

Eddie Moloney was the man who gave chase with both Chatsworth Dan and Pashmina K and try as he might, Moloney could not close the gap on Marshall.  The Kilkenny rider broke the beam on Chatsworth Dan in 46.78 to slot into second while he also took third with Pashmina K in a time of 47.09.

Recent National Grand Prix winner at Cavan, Vincent Byrne took another placing, this time with Hanibal V Overis Z taking fourth.  The Kilkenny rider won a couple of weeks back with Mr Rockefeller at Cavan and recording a double clear on Martin Walsh's stallion in a time of 48.68 was good enough for fourth.

Edward Butler took fifth with the very promising  Cornet Son while Stephen Moore continued his good partnership with Merlins Magic taking sixth.
