The Meath rider steered his own Horseware Kellswater Crimson to a decisive victory ahead of this afternoon's TRM/Horseware Premier Series, a win that brought Clarke into fourth place in the League standings.
The new Balmoral Park provides the venue for this year's National Balmoral Championships where the National Grand Prix and TRM/Horseware Premier Series are the highlights.
Once again, league leader, Greg Broderick took some valuable in his title defence as the Tipperary rider took fifth with Rincarina to move to 87 points.
Broderick's nearest rival, Tholm Keane also put some points on the board to cement his place in the second with a third place finish yesterday with Warrenstown You 2. Keane now lies on 47 points.
The big movers on the Leaderboard, however, were Gerard Clarke and eventual runner up, Vincent Byrne.
Clarke stopped the clock with the son of Cruising in a time of 39.76 to take the win with Byrne, recent winner at Bannow and Rathangan, settling for second in a time of 40.47.
Tholm Keane slotted in next best with Ronan Tynan's Narcos Stallion, Warrenstown You 2 in a time of 40.64.
Army Equitation School rider, Capt. Geoff Curran appears to be forming a very strong partnership with Ringwood Abbey, having taken over the ride recently from Lt. David Power. This pairing were placed last week at Bannow & Rathangan before taking fourth on Monday in a time of 41.02 just ahead of Greg Broderick.
Stephen Moore and Merlins Magic continued their formidable partnership that began this year with yet another placing as the pair took sixth place in a time of 43.15.
