Proceedings got underway this weekend at The Meadows Equestrian for the opening round of the TopSpec Autumn Grand Prix.
Last year’s runner up Jonathan Smyth, proved his form once again taking the top position in the 1.35m class with the Richard Smyth owned ‘Charlton Clio’ with a double clear in a rime of 31.70.
Local man Frank Curran steered Afrika to a double clear in a time of 35.72.
Philip Gaw and Ardnacashel Coovelle left all poles standing in a time of 36.71 to slot into third place ahead of Ronald Ross and Gilbo VD Gulden with a time of 38.37.
Gaw also found success in the 1.40m round the following day finishing one position better with second place.
Last of the double clears on the day was Peter Smyth and Shenanigins stopping the clock in a time of 38.99.
Autumn Grand Prix Leading Rider of 2017, John Floody, started off his campaign with an incredible win on HTS Blackrock in a time of 33.90 with just under two second on Gaw who took up second place on the day with a time of 35.31.
Darryl Walker and Caliva Charca MMZ finished in third position with a time of 36.10, just one hundredths of a second in front of Jonathan Smyth who was back in the line-up, this time with Mulvin Lui, stopping the clock in 36.11.
Charlene Clingan and Ardtana Flash Forward slotted into fifth place on the day in a time of 36.62, with Peter Smyth and Roscrib De Ross concluding the line-up coming sixth with a double clear in 37.17.
