It was a great day for Peter Smyth in the third leg of the Allianz Autumn Grand Prix held at Kernans Equestrian Centre yesterday (October 1st).

A strong list of competitors filed out for the €2,000 prize pot in the 1.35m leg. Cruising Lux, owned by Kathleen Gallagher had the unbeatable time of 34.61 in a twelve horse jump off.

Jonathan Smyth was close on Peter’s heels with a double clear in 35.99 with the Noletta Smyth and Roy Craig owned Mulvin Lui.

John Floody, who saw victory in the 1.40m Allianz Grand Prix in Cavan at the opening leg with Bronson De Reve had to settle for third position this weekend with Francis Hughes’ Ballyknock Diamond in a time of 36.22 seconds.

Barry McCormack and his self-owned Armani Velvet stopped the clock in a time of 40.95 seconds to retain fourth place in the line-up.

Hayley Dunne riding Aston D’la Rousserie and Mary McShane who partnered MMS Camilla had a battle for fifth place.

Dunne held onto the fifth place by less than a second scoring a time of 44.26, while McShane finished up in sixth place with 44.96.

The next legs of the tour will be held on the 8th October at Maryville Equestrian Centre (1.35m) and Eglinton Equestrian (1.40m).
