Prepare to be dazzled as National Balmoral Championships are set for an electrifying return to the Irish show jumping calendar in it’s 30th year, as power, speed and precision show jumping will be delivered by Ireland’s top show jumping horse and pony combinations, competing side by side, in one amazing location.
Details of the magical 30th Anniversary staging of the show jumping spectacular at Balmoral Park, Lisburn have been unveiled and the clock is ticking down to the start of the highly anticipated 2017 National Balmoral Championships which run from Sunday 16 - Wednesday 19 July 2017.
With the season in full throttle, show jumping big-guns will be out in force in search of valuable ranking points for the seventh leg of the ‘New Heights Champions Series’, sponsored by TRM & Horseware, takes centre stage on the Balmoral picture perfect grass arena, with the series boasting an overall prize fund of €110,000. Other feature events include ‘The Riding Club Championship’ and ‘Pony Club Jumps Ahead Final’; ‘The Ulster Region TRI 1.35m Summer Tour’, and ‘The ShowJumping Ireland National 1.40m Grand Prix’ the cornerstone of the national show jumping calendar.
The countdown is officially on, in anticipation of this sensational ‘Ulster Region jewel in the crown event’ that has something for everyone with pony athletes ready to throw down the gauntlet to be crowned National Balmoral 2017 128 50cm to 148 1.20m Champion of Champions with top-level pony jumping staged in the beautiful Balmoral International main grass arena for the first time in the shows history.
With excitement building ahead of the unveiling of the revamped schedule that will see a power-packed battle for championship supremacy, over four days of electrifying show jumping, a star studded field of Ireland’s best Children On Horses, Junior, Young Rider, Amateur and Senior athletes will beat a path to the Balmoral showcase venue.
With a steady hand on the reins NBC Show Director Ray Buchanan has welcomed course designing supremo Rafael Suarez to the team as Assistant Show Director for this 30th staging of the biggest national outdoor show jumping event in the Ulster show jumping calendar;
