Make-A-Wish Christmas Festival 2015

Showjumping Ireland and Allianz Insurance have teamed up once again to raise much needed funds for Make-A-Wish Ireland. This year’s charity show takes place at Cavan Equestrian Centre from the 5th – 6th of December. The Make-A-Wish Christmas Festival is open to all members and promises to be an action packed weekend of show jumping. A full schedule is printed in this month’s bulletin.

Showjumping Ireland with the support of Allianz Ireland is hoping to raise €10,000 for such a worthy charity. Help us to help those that are in need, by coming along to the Make-A-Wish Christmas Festival weekend. There will be lots of entertainment for both young and old soon to be announced.

Chairman of Showjumping Ireland Tony Hurley spoke of his excitement with this year’s Make-A-Wish Christmas Festival, ‘’Showjumping Ireland are delighted to support this worthy charity, in the spirit of Christmas and giving, I feel this in an opportune time to host the two day show. It’s very important as an association that we give back to those who are less fortunate. I urge our members to come and support the Make-A-Wish Christmas Festival’’.

Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim, to grant the wishes of children aged between 3 and 17 years living with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy, an aim Showjumping Ireland is pleased to lend their support to.

A wish granted is true magic for the child, providing respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment. Representatives from the Foundation and some of the children will take part at the two day charity show which reflects the spirit of Christmas.

Irene Timmins, Head of Fundraising commented, “We are delighted to be partnered with Showjumping Ireland for this year’s Make-A-Wish Christmas festival. We are truly grateful for their wonderful support and all the hard work that will go into making this an amazing spectacular event. Last year’s support made a huge difference to our wish children. We have over 200 children living with life threatening medical conditions on our waiting list –and we can’t grant their one true wish without the continued support of the public. Make-A-Wish is really looking forward to seeing everyone at the event.”
