The sixteenth leg of the Horseware/TRM National Grand Prix League 2014 took place today at Tattersalls July Show in Ratoath, Co. Meath.

The Grand Prix, supported by the Ward Union Hunt and ShowjumpingIreland, carried a purse of €4000 as well as being the qualifying class for the Horseware/TRM Premier Grand Prix which takes place tomorrow Sunday 27th.

In a very competitive class 98 riders took on Tom Holden’s track on an overcast day which made jumping a lot easier than the humid sunshine we have been seeing in recent days. 17 competitors had clear rounds to put them through to the jump off.

Riders complimented the grounds which had been watered all week and had a good covering of grass, as well as all the facilities available to them on the day.

It was Greg Broderick who took the top spot with Noel Cawley's, Rincarina, the 10 year old Mare by Cruising out of a Diamond Lad mare.

Kildare based Alexander Butler with the bay mare Vimminka and in third spot was Rebecca Mc Goldrick with Cuba Libre, she was also placed fifth on Fleur V , replicating her double placing at National Balmoral.

The 2014 League now moves to South County Show in Coilog Equestrian Centre for the seventeenth leg on Saturday 2nd August.
