O'Neill and the 10 year old Belgian Mare by Acorado took the top spot in a competitive class with a double clear in a time of 46.50. The Mare owned by Sharon Fitzpatrick has already had two placings in the National Grand Prix League this year.
Cork Summer Show attracted large entries and the Horseware/ TRM National Grand Prix was no exception. At the end of the first round there were 20 double clears through to the second round over Course designer Tom Holden's track, 8 combinations withdrew at this point having earned their spot in the big class tomorrow.
Kildare based Neal Fearon took the runner up spot with the nine year old bay Gelding Leanorth Boom Boom, by ARD VDL Douglas, and Kieran Carey with his own Hip Boy took third.
Organised by the Munster Agricultural Society, the 173rd Cork Summer Show is taking place in Curraheen in Cork all this weekend.. The three day Cork Summer Show is one of the oldest agricultural shows in Ireland and annually attracts over 25,000 visitors.
Over the three days of the Cork Summer Show, there will be showing classes for horses, sheep, goats, poultry, and cattle, a display of rare breeds, pony club games, carriage driving and an international farriery competition.
The Showjumping action continues tomorrow when Cork Summer Show plays host to the Horseware/ TRM Premier Grand Prix with a prize fund of €10,000 supported by Showjumping Ireland
