Round seven of the Horseware/TRM National Grand Prix League took place at Ballivor Horse Show in Co. Meath on Sunday 8th June, with a prize fund of €4,000.
Kilkenny's Vincent Byrne notched up yet another win in this year’s Horseware/TRM National Grand Prix League with James Weldon's 10 year old Gelding by ARD VDL Douglas, Mr Rockefeller, showing notable good form with four wins and a second placing to date
21 starters took on Frank Glynn’s track and just five combinations made it through to the jump off. First to go Vincent Byrne set the standard with the Stallion Hannibal V Oversis Z, Greg Broderick upped the competition with the first double clear but it was Byrne who came out the winner by just under a second with the only other double clear of the day.
Mr Rockefeller is the leading horse to date with these impressive performances giving him significant lead at the top of the table.
Greg Broderick’s mount Javas Keltic Mist, a chestnut gelding also by Ard VDL Douglas out of a mare by Clover Hill, owned by Elizabeth Forte was the leading 7 &8 year old of the competition.
The Horseware/TRM National Grand Prix League now moves west to Galway County Show on Sunday 15th June for the 8th Grand Prix of the series. Galway County also hosts a round of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series.
